We mentioned there might be an Alvin and the Chipmunks game in June, now it is official. The Alvin and the Chipmunks game has pop songs like “All the Small Things”, “It’s Tricky”, “Heartbreak Hotel”, and “All Star” sung in the high pitched style of Chipmunks. Kids, very little kids, may enjoy the concept, but I can’t imagine squeaky voices making pop music any better.
During the quest towards Rockathonpalooza Alvin and the Chipmunks will perform at Burning Man, an artistic celebration of the inner child in all of us. Did the developers license Burning Man as a location or is it part of the movie? It is unusual since this is supposed to be a kids game. I would imagine the Teen Choice Awards or something like that would be more familiar with today’s youth.
Brash Entertainment, the video game publisher with strong ties to Hollywood, has this as their first project. But don’t judge them solely on the success of Alvin on the PS2, Wii, PC and DS. They have other movie licenses geared towards an older audience like Saw too.
