Animal Crossing amiibo Cards Will Appear in Target Stores

The Animal Crossing amiibo cards are coming back. Nintendo announced a restock of the first four series in the collection. People will be able to get packs at Target in September 2021. An exact date wasn’t offered, aside from “early September.” However, Target stores are already showing listings and suggesting they are in stock. Series 1-4 of the line will be available. In addition, the Sanrio Collaboration Packs that include the six cards with villagers inspired by Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, and Pompompurin will also be available again.

With regards to the original cards, series 1-4 packs will be $5.99 each. As with the first run, you will get a pack of cards with five normal villagers and one special NPC like Isabelle or Tom Nook. Each series has 100 different cards total. So series 1 has cards 1-100, series 2 has 101-200, and so on. The cards work with games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch), Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS) and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival (Wii U).

Now, this doesn’t mean all Animal Crossing amiibo cards will be back. Only the four series and Sanrio ones will be at Target. Nintendo didn’t mention anything about Welcome amiibo, the fifth collection of cards. It included 50 more characters, with some of them being “rarer” characters who first appeared in the Japan-only Doubutsu no Mori e+. That collection included cards for people like Hopkins, Julia, Ketchup, Louie, Raddle, Sprocket, and Sylvana.

The Animal Crossing series 1-4 amiibo cards will appear in Target stores again in early September 2021.
