Independent game makers Sam Hellawell and Leendert Oomen have announced that their isometric mech shooter Antraxx will be coming to PC in the fall of 2016.
Antraxx was previously called META4 and Siliconera was able to catch up with its progress in an interview last year as development on it resumed after a hiatus.
The game has been in development since 2011 and it’s intended to revitalize the isometric, arcade-style, mech shooter.“The goal is to create a next-generation 2D isometric game in terms of gameplay, graphical gimmicks, audio and immersion while still keeping true to games that inspired us to become game developers,” writes the creators.
At the game’s core is a sandbox that lets you create your own maps and customizable mechs. You can then take your creations online and join a team to play deathmatch, king of the hill, and other multiplayer game variants. You can also use experience points to buy and trade cockpits, weapons, legs, and items for your mech’s upgrade slots with other players.
