Are you ready to digest Gabu Gabu Planet?

Gabu Gabu Planet (aka Prey the Stars in all regions except Japan) feels like it’s been in development forever. The Katamari-like concept of alien dogs gobbling snacks and later buildings grabbed my attention last year when it was supposed to be released. Koei Canada must have had difficulties creating the game, but Gabu Gabu Planet should be nearing completion since it’s coming out in Japan on September 25. North America gets it a few weeks later in October.

I hope the extra year in development went into the single player mode. Last year, at Tokyo Game Show, Prey the Stars felt like an entertaining multiplayer player game where everyone races to eat specific items. Unlike Katamari Damacy, the Gabu Gabu Planet demo wasn’t a race against time, it was a race against computer controlled alien dogs.
