Armored Core VI Story Trailer Gives Us ‘a Reason to Exist’

Bandai Namco shared a new Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon trailer focusing on the game’s story. We already had some vague hints about what was going on based on its introductory videos. We also saw some gameplay. But now, there’s a more defined sense of purpose, with the teaser even saying the events of the game will give 621 “a reason to exist.”

The actual details are a bit vague still in the Armored Core VI story trailer, with cinematics from the game appearing. We see some mechs heading to face Hounds, then being attacked. Someone’s asking Handler Walter what 617 went through. Rather than Walter responding, we see footage of 617, then 619 and 620 also falling in battle.

We also hear that our character is “functional,” but that Walter “shouldn’t expect much more.” Walter instructs the person he’s talking to to wake 621 up. We then hear Walter saying “621…I’ll give you a reason to exist. Let’s get to work.”

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC on August 25, 2023. There will be standard, collector’s, and premium editions of the game available, with more expensive ones including a figure and docking station for it.
