Koei has teamed up with Arte Piazza who used to create the Dragon Quest games before Level 5 stepped in to make a RPG on the Wii. Opoona has been coined as a “lifestyle RPG” where the player has to make a life for himself on a new planet as he searches for his lost siblings. Opoona is not just about battling, it’s about deepening relationships with you’re the inhabitants of Landroll. As Opoona befriends NPCs on Landroll his Tomodachi meter increases, which lets him try out new jobs and discover new adventures. When he Opoona has to fight he uses “energy bonbons” to attack enemies which players can throw by snapping the nunchuck. Currently Opoona is scheduled to come out this summer in Japan and a North American release window has not been determined. Past the break are character introductions and some of Opoona’s unique artwork.
