At One Point Was There Really A Disaster: Day Of Crisis Sequel On The Table?

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Sales wise Disaster: Day of Crisis isn’t looking hot, but things weren’t always this way. During Disaster: Day of Crisis’ long development cycle Monolith Soft or maybe Nintendo considered a cliffhanger ending to lead up to the next installment of a possible Disaster series. Like a DVD extra an “alterative ending” unlocks after you beat the game. You can watch it in the movie theater if you have the Japanese or European version of Disaster: Day of Crisis, but since Nintendo of America might not release the game in North America here’s the clip from the European release with English subtitles.

I put “alternative ending” in quotes since it isn’t clear if this really was going to be used as an ending or if this is an inside joke at Monolith Soft. We will probably never find out, but the way Disaster: Day of Crisis is selling I doubt it will ever get a sequel no matter how cheesy cool an Armageddon rip-off would be.
