Atelier Meruru was originally released under a CERO A rating, provided by Japan’s Computer Entertainment Rating Organization. The “A” rating is put on games that are considered suitable for players of all ages.

That rating has now been revised, however. Upon further examination, the CERO discovered that the documents provided to them by Gust for rating purposes were lacking, as they left out certain imagery present in the game. Following this discovery, further shipments of Meruru were halted while the game’s rating was re-evaluated.

Following the re-evaluation, Atelier Meruru is now rated CERO B, which is considered suitable for ages 12 and up. The “sexual” content descriptor icon has been added to the game’s cover as well. No changes have been made to the game itself.
