Atelier Sophie 2 Gameplay and Combat Details Revealed

New details regarding general gameplay and combat for Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream have appeared. A photomode will be available in Atelier Sophie 2, which will allow for players to position characters and monsters to take screenshots. Additionally, several gameplay features for Atelier Sophie 2 have been outlined in full. This includes the return of the “Multi-Link Turn Based Battle” system, and a break mechanic. Another gameplay and combat feature that will appear in Atelier Sophie 2 is the inclusion of “Dual Trigger” system. This will allow players to perform join attacks involving special moves once the “Dual Trigger Gauge” has reached its max.

As mentioned previously, some monsters will also have special “auras” the player can break to gain additional turns. Players can break these auras by targeting an enemy’s weakness. Additionally, certain monsters can appear on the field that are capable of changing the weather of an area.

In November 2021, Koei Tecmo provided a first-hand look at combat and gameplay features that will appear in the title. This included a look at how the game will perform on the Nintendo Switch.

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream will release for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam on February 25, 2022.
