Gameplay Flow

flow 2

flow 3

The general gameplay flow of Crosswave is that you defeat all the enemies within the area, then proceed to beat the boss in order to clear the stage. It’s made so you can play it like it were the original Azur Lane gameplay flow.

Controls

Movement: Left stick

controls 1

Movement speed differs between characters.

Aiming: Right stick

controls 2 controls 3

The Lock-on Area is the circle shown in the middle of the screen, and enemies inside the circle are easier to hit. You can also zoom in and out with the up and down D-pad keys. Perhaps you can use it to zoom up to the character’s face if you want?

Dash: X Button

controls 4

An unlimited dashing move that grants a slight window of invulnerability when used.

Guard: X Button

controls 5

Battleships cannot dash, and instead have a Guard move that can be held indefinitely and halves damage. If you use Guard the moment an enemy attack is about to hit, you can null all damage.

Weaponry 1/2: R1/R2 Buttons

controls 6 controls 7

You can use equipped weapons 1 & 2 using R1 and R2 respectively. These are customizable. Certain weapons need to charge and recharge before and after use.

Torpedoes

controls 8

A move used by certain shipgirls that are quite slow but pack a punch. If available, it is equipped to weapon slot 2.

Aircraft

controls 9

Usable by aircraft carrier shipgirls. After shooting them out, they will automatically go fight. They are separated into Fighter, Bomber, and Attack aircraft.

Skills: Square Button

controls 10

When the Skill gauge is completely full, you can use Skills with the Square button. While you can’t change out skills, you can upgrade them with items. There are some skills that will activate immediately.

Point-blank shooting

controls 11

The closer you are to the enemy, the more damage you do, and the more damage you take.

Anti-air Guns

controls 12

If anti-air guns are equipped, it will aim and shoot down aircraft automatically. You can shoot them down with weaponry if you want, but if you have sufficiently powerful anti-air guns, you don’t have to.

Lock-on Attacks: Hold down Circle Button –> Release Circle Button

controls 13

You can use Lock-on attacks when the Lock-on Gauge is full. Hold down Circle, and you will fire at every enemy within the Lock-on Area when released.

Swap: D-pad Left/Right

controls 14

Swap out the shipgirl you’re using with left or right on the D-pad. You can do this unlimited times, so use it when you want.
