An interview with PlatinumGames revealed more information regarding Babylon’s Fall, including gameplay details. Additionally, the interview clarifies that cross-play will available in Babylon’s Fall. In the interview Babylon’s Fall is described as “a unique, high fantasy setting that is not Western,” however that was not elaborated on in full. Additionally, a variety of environments in the Tower of Babylon. This includes volcanos and vast, snowy mountains.
Babylon’s Fall will also feature cross-play. The game will only be available to play online, however. And while cross-play is available, cross platform saves will not be implemented.
However, the interview goes into a fair amount of detail regarding how combat related gameplay will function in Babylon’s Fall. Players will have two types of attacks, light and heavy attacks. There will be a variety of weapons, such as swords, hammers, rods, shields, and bows. Information regarding more weapon types will arrive at a later date. Additionally, no player versus player modes will appear in Babylon’s Fall.
Babylon’s Fall will release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, with cross-play being available between these platforms. Closed beta sign ups for Babylon’s Fall are currently available, with the first closed beta test arriving in late July for PC users.
