Tanzia, an action RPG set in a striking tropical setting, casts the player as a budding shaman, one who will use magical spells and crafted alchemy potions to stop evil and become worthy as successor to his ancestors.
An evil force looms over the tropical island home of the protagonist, but as a descendent of the Akazi, it will be up to the player to help stop it. Players will be free to take that responsibility in whichever direction they choose, heading to sun-drenched beaches, shadowy woods, bright blue seas, and oppressive ruins as they like. The entire colorful island is open to the player from the start, so it’s up to them to decide if they can survive the dangers in each area.
Players will have access to a variety of spells, allowing them to burn enemies with fire, slow them with cold, anchor them in place with roots, and cast other useful magical effects by simply clicking on the chosen equipped spells. Players can also enhance these spells, as well as heal themselves, become invulnerable, and create other effects, using alchemy potions crafted from items they find throughout the island. In tandem, these abilities will give the player the strength to defeat anything they run into.
Tanzia’s development team is made up of people who have worked on many classic games. Its story was designed in collaboration with Kevin Saunders, who worked on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera and more. Other members of its team have worked on Wasteland 2, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, EverQuest: Omens of War, and other titles.
Tanzia is available now on Steam Early Access.
