Before You Read This, Guess How Many Missiles Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury Can Display

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

In the Bangai-O games, players have to fly through a myriad of missiles and bullets. By holding one of the triggers, you can reflect shots within a narrow circle near Bangai-O. If you wait for more missiles to close in you can do more damage, but this also puts Bangai-O in danger. The maximum number of projectiles you can send flying back is 1,000, enough to create an Itano Circus, but Treasure’s game can display way more than that.

How many missiles and projectiles can Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury display simultaneously on the Xbox 360? "About 5,000," answered Mitsuru Yaida, Director of Bangai-O HD at Treasure.

Aside from the number of missiles, another difference between Bangai-O Spirits for the Nintendo DS and Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury is you cannot choose what weapons you start the level with; weapons are assigned in the Xbox Live Arcade game. I asked Yaida why the team made the change. "We wanted to emphasize more on the map solving aspect," Yaida replied.

Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury will be available worldwide on May 4. Check back because we’ll have more from Treasure before the game launches on Xbox Live Arcade.
