Namco Bandai designed Tales of Xillia’s battle system with partner characters in mind. As your attacks connect, the link gauge grows. The second it starts blinking you can trigger Link Artes, powerful combination attacks that utilize two techniques in one attack.
Jude’s Demon Fang technique and Milla’s Wind Lance combine into Severing Wind Blade or as its called in Tales of Vesperia Final Gale. (Note: The graphics have changed from when link artes were first revealed.)
Famitsu also revealed a link arte for Jude and Rowen. Demon Fang from Jude and Splash from Rowen turn into Splash Line.
Tales of Xillia is in development for PlayStation 3 and slated for release this year in Japan.
