Bravely Default developer Silicon Studio aren’t new to the mobile market—their free-to-play tower defense RPG, Fantasica, hit over 5 million downloads last year. In recent events, they revealed their latest, in Dragon Defense, a tower defense and shooter hybrid title. 4Gamer shares a first look at the game.
Dragon Defense has all the traditional offensive elements from a tower defense game, with arrows and magic that can be used to take out enemies who are trying to take over your castle.
The shooter part of the game is what gives it a twist, as you’ll be pressing the screen to aim your arrows in order to take out monsters one by one, and for casting magic once the meter fills up to take out many at a time.
Once you clear stages, you’ll acquire coins and crystals, which can be used to get new weapons and magic to strengthen your defenses. Knowing the monster’s characteristics and weaknesses will be the key to winning battles.
Dragon Defense will launch soon for iOS and Android in Japan.
