But I Love You is a dating sim. Well, at least, it is at the start. While travelling to get away from your stressful life you break down in a town full of “beautiful, lonely girls.”

They all flock to see you, fighting for your attention, begging you to stay with them forever. Their pleads for such permanent commitment is when the horror side of the game starts to creep in. In fact, it turns into a puzzle horror game as you work to one of the multiple endings – some are romantic, others not much happens, and in the more grim ones you might end up, well, dead.

You also have the option to completely ignore the horror side of the game and just keep dating the women and, presumably, stay with them forever doing so.

But I Love You has five main girls but there are nine that you can date altogether across 10 locations. There will be over 40 endings, timed puzzles, and scavenger hunts, as well as interactions with the girls that have hundreds of possible expressions between them. You’re also able to choose to play as a woman or a man.

The team creating But I Love You, Gorshatastic!, recently took the game to Kickstarter to raise $8,000 to fund the game but ended up with $43,862 altogether. But I Love You has also been Greenlit already. The plan is to release the game later this year.
