Cardfight Vanguard: will+Dress Season 2 will feature original character designs from CLAMP, and Satoshi Mori will direct it. Mori previously worked as an animation director on Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul and Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen. The “D” series will mostly feature on Yu-yu Kondou’s adventures. In the Japanese dub, Shouta Aoi (Ai Mikaze in Uta no Prince-sama) voices him.

According to the schedule for the Cardfight Vanguard “D” anime, it will air throughout the year until December 2025. However, April to June, as well as October to December will consist of re-runs. So far, including the un-aired Cardfight Vanguard will+Dress Season 2, there have been four seasons.

Unlike the original Cardfight Vanguard shows, the “D” anime focuses on Yu-yu Kondou, who is a shy and timid boy. He encounters Vanguard after running into Team Blackout, and then starts to play. He shares many similarities with Aichi, who was the protagonist for the original anime.

Cardfight Vanguard will+Dress Season 2 will start airing on January 14, 2023, and the entire Yu-yu Kondou saga will end after nine seasons in December 2025.
