Cases of a Devil Summoner


Meet Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th, by day a High School student and at night a demon summoning detective. He is the star of Shin Megami Tensei: Devill Summoner, a Megaten game with a set in late 1920’s Japan. Raidou isn’t alone when he’s cracking mysterious cases at the Narumi detective agency. By his side he has his demons who can help extract information by reading minds and scouting areas undetected. Radiou also has his trusty talking cat Gouto who sarcastically gives tips on where to go and who to interrogate.

Unlike other RPGs, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner is episodic. Each case is a new episode and we have a sneak preview of the first three mysteries Radiou is going to solve. Read on if you want a little more story information about the game and read our import coverage for more on the game’s mechanics.

Case 1: An Unknown Client

A young girl calls up the Narumi detective agency asking them to kill her. When Raidou arrives on the scene a group of red armored guards kidnap her and knock Raidou out. Who is this bird and why would she make such an unusual request?




Case 2: The Red Cape

Around town people have been spotting the Red Cape, an unknown terror in Ginza. Ace reporter Tae Asakura swings by Narumi’s office to get help in catching the Red Cape. What does the Red Cape want and is he tied to the disappearance of the young student?




Case 3: Enter the Dark Summoner

Radiou isn’t the only one who can summon demons, individuals around the world are gifted with this ability. Raidou runs into Rasputin, a summoner for hire, who knows something about the strange occurrences happening in Japan. Wait a minute… this is the 1920s and didn’t Rasputin die in 1916? How can he be alive and who is he working for?
