There are comparably few active console MMORPGs. Currently the PlayStation 3 has none. Not for long, though! Q Entertainment is almost ready to launch a conversion of Angel Love Online, an active PC MMORPG, originally created by UserJoy Technology in Taiwan. Angel Love Online for the PS3 is an exact conversion of the PC release. Players hunt creeps on the same servers as PC players, they can even use their old PC account.

Unlike Final Fantasy XI, Angel Love Online is free to play. Q Entertainment pays the bills by utilizing a cash-op system where players purchase items. It is unclear how Q Entertainment plans to adapt the controls for players without a USB keyboard, but we will find out this summer when the first cash-op console MMORPG arrives in Japan.

While Angel Love Online is in North America under the name Angels Online it is not known if Skyunion has any plans to work with Q Entertainment or Sony to release the PlayStation 3 version outside of Japan.

Not sure what Angel Love Online is? This video from the English PC version shows a sample of gameplay. With some action RPG style controls (analog stick to move, face buttons for spells) this might be decent regardless of demographic differences.
