During Gamescom 2020, Chameleon Games released a new trailer for their upcoming game, Tamarin. The game takes inspiration from games like Rare third-person shooter Jet Force Gemini, among other games, and takes place in a Nordic-inspired countryside. The title is headed to PlayStation 4 and PC on September 10, 2020.

While the previous trailer and the first half of this one is dedicated to showing off the game’s 3D platformer aesthetics, this trailer also reveals that players will need to blast and shoot their way through an invading insect army in order to save your family. Players will get to pick up and buy weapons like machine guns and more, and the trailer also hints that not everything will be as happy-go-lucky as it seems by the end of the game.

Chameleon Games actually includes several of Rare’s old team members, including character designer Steve Mayles, who was also the character designer for Banjo-Kazooie. David Wise is also a composer on this title, and while the game is not as orchestral space-like as in Jet Force Gemini, it’s more Donkey Kong Country-inspired, but with some pumping tracks as well. Other Rare veterans are also returning to work on this new game.

Tamarin will be released on September 10, 2020 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
