Chessaria is a fantasy take on Chess, transporting players to a universe of elven kingdoms, an orcish slaughter of fairy civilizations, and the sudden end of one thousand years of peace after a dragon attack.
Chessaria looks to create a deep lore and fantasy universe around Chess, framing it as a game of tactical fantasy conquest. Players will control a legion of High Elves, with each of their heroes designed around the main pieces in a game of Chess. These heroes will head to dwarven castles, crystal-filled caverns, and lofty treetops to battle their opponents, working through a story of war between races.
Chess players have more to look forward to than just a fantasy take on the game, though. The developers promise a complex AI that works like a human opponent, giving players a challenging foe to fight against as they make their way through the story. Players will also play different variations on chess matches where they have to take down certain pieces, battle powerful bosses, or infiltrate specific areas.
Chessaria is slated to release this Fall.
