Players can control one of six family members, each skilled with various weapons and magical abilities, taking them out into a mountainside in constant flux. Out in corrupted fields, players will find procedurally-generated temples, woods, and dungeons, battling against the polluted beings within each in order to find hidden lore that will point to the reason why the mountain has suddenly become so dangerous.

Each character is an important member of the Bergson family, all of whom have their own pasts, loves, and important parts of the story to tell. Over the course of the game, Children of Morta looks to explore each character’s side of family life, looking to give players a sense of connection between all of the playable people in the game.
