It looks like the first Code Vein DLC is about to appear. Not only have patch notes for update 1.30 gone live, adding support for the first add-on, but the Australian Microsoft Store listing is now live for Code Vein Hellfire Knight. The product page lists a January 28, 2020 release date for what would be the first of three expansions for the game. [Thanks, True Achievements!]

While details about the new enemies that could await in Code Vein Hellfire Knight haven’t been announced, the product page does offer some ideas about what people can expect from this add-on. People will be able to collect some new Blood Codes, which act as the game’s classes. The Code Vein DLC will also add more Blood Veils, which are another kind of weapon a player can use to attack and parry. The AI partners will be able to dress up, as you’ll find outfits for them in Depths after acquiring the add-on.

As far as the patch notes go, only three things were mentioned. One is that the Code Vein Hellfire Knight support has been added. Another is that unspecified bugs have been fixed. More importantly, how Mistles work have been adjusted. You can teleport from one Depths map to another, if the Mistles in each have been found before. Also, if you rest at a Mistle, the bosses nearby will be revived and reappear.

The Code Vein DLC packs were first announced back in November 2019. Bandai Namco confirmed that three would be on the way and offered general windows. All of them said “coming early 2020,” so the second and third packs could follow Hellfire Knight in the next few months.

Code Vein is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it appears we’ll see Hellfire Knight on January 29, 2020. Patch 1.20 recently added Christmas accessories and Tower of Trials.
