Electronic Arts announced that they are working on an Xbox 360 version of Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Bringing over Command and Conquer 3 seems like it is a natural fit for the Xbox 360. Xbox Live is around for online play and it is too difficult to rework the code. Plus EA gets to cash in more microtransactions. They already have a C&C 3 dashboard theme and are working on a “steady stream of downloadable content.” I’m guessing instead of getting free maps from map creators you’re going to have to buy each one. Here’s a possibility, maybe EA can team up with the PC map creators and sell their maps over the Xbox Marketplace. This way the map makers will earn some money for their hard work, EA gets free cash and players will have plenty of areas to wage war in.
