Controlling SSX Blur

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

After a year of being on a hiatus Electronic Arts is bringing back SSX, only for the Wii. SSX Blur uses motion controls instead of the complex shoulder button holding scheme that previous SSX games used. You move the nunchuck left or right to carve and you lift up the stick to jump. Tricks are a little more complicated, you hold A to spin while moving the remote. Finally flips are done by tilting the remote up and down. It looks like you’re going to need a steady hand to play SSX Blur or you’re going tomes up landing tricks. In some ways the free axis control better represents snowboarding than pushing buttons, but whether its more fun is up in the air.
