“We would like to continue the main series on the Nintendo 3DS or if there is a successor to the 3DS, Kagura will continue there,” Takaki said to Siliconera. “But, we definitely want a lot of users to play and experience the game so you can count on different forms of the game coming out.”

Senran Kagura started on the Nintendo 3DS, and a sequel, Senran Kagura Burst: Crimson Girls, came out earlier this year. Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, a Dynasty Warriors style game is coming to PlayStation Vita in February 2013 with 10 new characters.

Since Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy is on Steam and Takaki-san worked on that title I asked Takaki if he is considering bringing the Kagura beat ’em ups to Steam as well.

“Right now, we don’t have plans,” Takaki answered. “One of the things, is a lot of the art was made specifically for the 3D features of the 3DS, so it wouldn’t be an easy port, but if the opportunity presented itself we would like to try.”

Marvelous AQL is still evaluating Steam as a potential platform for other titles and Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy is their litmus test.
