The game is set after the events of Crash Bandicoot: Warped. The villains, Neo Cortex and Dr. N. Tropy, have escaped their interdimensional prison. Crash and his sister Coco must, once again, stop them before they not only conquer this dimension but all of the dimensions out there. Crash Bandicoot 4 will take us back to N. Sanity Beach, which is the first level of the very first Crash Bandicoot. Throughout the game, we’ll see how the series has changed in gameplay and art style from the very beginning.

As far as gameplay goes, Crash Bandicoot 4 introduces new powers with the “Quantum Masks.” These masks will provide Crash and Coco with the abilities needed to tackle various challenges. These include being able to flip their center of gravity, to slow down time, or even phase-shift elements in and out of existence.

Crash Bandicoot 4 will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2, 2020. A demo will be available for those who pre-order the game. Check out the game’s Japanese commercial that brought back the wacky “Crash Banji-kyuusu” theme song.
