In Hana Yori Dango -Koi Seyo Onago-, you're forced to endure structured school activities and conversations most days. But after school, on weekends and during holidays your free time is your own. Luckily, there's a lot to do.
The easiest option is to talk to Hana Yori Dango characters. These conversations can help build friendships, earn you the affection of Domyouji, Hanazawa, Mimasaka, Nishikado and Makino, and get you the phone numbers of the F4. It is also easy to trigger – if a character you can talk to is in town, an icon showing either their face or a question mark will appear next to a location.
Shopping is also an option. You need the right clothes for the right seasons and recipes to make lunches for dates, so you'll have to stop by stores to get them. Shopping locations are indicated by a pale orange background. The first map, where your home is, has two shopping locations. The bottom left one sells recipes for food. The remaining three stores all sell clothes and accessories.
You can't just walk into shops and expect to get items for free though – you need coins. These are earned by working at one of three part-time jobs, indicated by pale pink backgrounds. The job on the first map is the dango shop where Tsukushi Makino and her friend Yuki Matsuoka also work. The second map also has a fast food stop (the very bottom location) and a fancy restaurant (the very top) where you can work to earn money.
If you don't feel like going out, you can also stay home. There are two options available to you if you stay home. You can practice your cooking skills by clicking the yellow icon with a pot on it, or you can stay home and relax by tapping the orange icon with a coffee cup. While the cooking option helps you prepare better lunches for dates, the orange icon just advances the day.
