Vertex Pop is bringing its intense twin-stick shooter We Are Doomed to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in early 2015.
We Are Doomed was released for PC earlier this year, and won me over with its risk-reward design, and intense use of neon color to decorate its lo-fi geometry.
In it, you are given a very powerful laser that is let down only by its short range. But this ensures that you more aggressively attack your enemies by getting right up in their face.
The enemies that you destroy sometimes drop purple trinkets, and by collecting these you’re able to charge up your SUPERLASER. Once it’s ready, it will fire a huge laser beam across the entire screen, giving you a rush of power, but making you no less vulnerable to attack.
It’s a with a lot of energy, both in its visual design and in the moment-to-moment action that sees you alternate between being almost overpowered to stuck in a corner hanging on the thread of life you’ve been given.
The PS4 version of We Are Doomed is running on 1080p and at 60 frames per second. The Vita version will be released slightly after the PS4 version in early 2015. You can find out more about the game on its website.
