Dragon Quest Heroes II releases on May 27 in Japan, and Square Enix revealed in this week’s issue of Jump magazine that the game will get more content with sub-stories and a competitive mode via DLC. [Thanks, @Kazu4281.]
The magazine scan shows the ultimate spell “Kazapple” which can be performed when the Tension meter fills up for each party member. Once you cast it, the four members will gather to send power into the heavens and using it to strike down the enemy with a powerful lightning attack.
As for the DLC, it is expected to release sometime after the game. It’ll include a sub-story about Dragon Quest IV’s Maya and Meena fighting their old enemy The Marquis de Léon, and another one that has Dragon Quest VI’s Terry and Carver working together with a Hacksaurus.
The competitive mode won’t have players fighting each other, but it’ll instead be a mode where four players are put in their own zones and compete in defense battles for the highest score.
Dragon Quest Heroes II will release in Japan on May 27, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. Check our earlier report for a look at its latest footage on PlayStation Vita.
