Dragon’s Dogma 2 Patch on PS5 and PC Now, Xbox Later

Capcom released a patch for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC and PS5 on March 29, 2024, with the Xbox Series X set to get the update in a few days. As previously reported, the patch will add the option to start a new game more easily and make some amenities easier to access.

As well as fixing some text display issues, the biggest part of the update will be adding an option to start a new game even when save data already exists. While it was possible previously, it required manually deleting save data in the game files.

Other changes include making it easier to obtain a house in major cities and increasing the number of Art of Metamorphosis items available from 2 to 99. This item is what lets players edit the appearance of their character or Pawn, and the previous limit drew criticism due to the item also being sold for real money.

Playstation players will additionally gain the option to toggle motion blur and ray tracing effects in the options menu, or to add a 30 FPS cap. Steam users, meanwhile, received some fixes for display issues including when using the DLSS super resolution mode.

+ Making the quest that allows players to acquire their own dwelling (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game.

+ Miscellaneous bug fixes.

+ Adding the option* to switch Motion Blur on/off in Options.

+ Adding the option* to switch Ray Tracing on/off in Options.

+ Adding the option to set Frame Rate at Max 30fps in Options

+ Improving quality when DLSS SUPER RESOLUTION is enabled.

+ Fixing an issue related to the display of models under some specific settings.

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 patch is immediately available for the PC, PS5, and it will come to Xbox Series X/S soon. The game itself is immediately available for all 3 platforms.
