Following the first look of the protagonist in our earlier report, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shared more details on the upcoming smartphone game Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation. [Thanks, Hachima.]   Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation features a protagonist with the ability to summon demons from their smartphone. Players will get to choose the gender for the protagonist, who is part of a secret organization that protects the world called the “Liberators” and gets mixed in the  war between users of the Devil Downloader (Dx2).   The Liberators’ base is the Share House in Akihabara, It comes with facilities for fusing and powering up demons, as well as item shops and more.   The game offers 3D dungeon exploration through “Aura Gates” where players will challenge themselves to see how far they can get. Familiar elements from the series such as demon negotiations, and skill inheriting are in the game, but it also has an original raising element.   As far as battle system goes, it features the Turn Press Battle system that many fans are familiar with as well. By hitting an enemy’s weakness, your number of actions increase, but on the other hand, attacking the enemy with their resistant attribute results in a loss of action numbers.   The demons in the game are being made with 3D models. The fights consist of battles with four demons on each side, and the protagonist himself doesn’t participate in the battles.   Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation is in development for iOS and Android.
