Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will feature a card game, according to Rabbit & Bear Studios. The developers revealed details about the new minigame in the October 2023 Kickstarter update.

In a post from Director Osamu Komuta, he noted the card game will involve players trying to defend three positions on a board using a hand of cards. Each of the three positions has a place to play a card, and the strength of each position will be decided by the sum of the three cards’ score values.

Some cards will also feature additional abilities that will affect the scores of each player. The Hildy card adds a +3 bonus to strength when it’s played, for example. Other cards will apply bonuses depending on color combinations, while others can take points away from your opponent.

Elements of deck building will also be part of the minigame. Players will be able to buy card packs from in-game stores and customize their decks to improve their tactics. It’s not clear if cards will be unlocked through specific in-game quests.

The card game is not the first minigame revealed to be part of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. During a gameplay demonstration at Tokyo Game Show 2023, the developers also showed off a fishing minigame.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is set to release on April 23, 2024. It will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
