So, Taito is resurrecting Elevator Action with Elevator Action: Death Parade. It’s a light gun game with elevator doors that open and close. How are they used? The doors close to simulate riding an elevator. At least one monstrous enemy tries to force the elevator open and you have to shoot it while mashing a common button to close the doors. Yeah, Elevator Action has monsters now too.
Given the state of arcades in North America I wouldn’t count on seeing Elevator Action: Death Parade here anytime soon, if ever. Taito could port the game with virtual sliding doors on the Wii. Not as cool, I know, but a home version is better than nothing.
At AOU 2009, Taito also brought Music Gun Gun. You may not be able to get a good feel of it from this video since you can’t hear what’s going on, but it looks like there is more to Music Gun Gun than shooting puffballs. At one point players point their guns to the sky and in between missions stages are selected with a song wheel. Wait a second… Love 2000? Isn’t an old song from Namie Amuro?
