English Version Of Aquanaut’s Holiday Extends Into Asia

ah Sony Computer Entertainment America hasn’t said anything about localizing Artdink’s underwater exploration game, Aquanaut’s Holiday. The game has players dive underwater with a submarine, match songs with singing stones, and if you’re the competitive type collect trophies. Aquanaut’s Holiday already has some English voice acting too so why isn’t it getting localized? Oh, that’s right it is, but not here. The Asian version coming out this month has Chinese and English text. Alternatively, you can get the Korean version which has Korean and English text which comes out in December. Since the PlayStation 3 is region free you can pick up the Asian version if you’re itching to explore the deep blue in high definition and SCEA passes on it. With news about an English version of Aquanaut’s Holiday it’s easy to imagine the rumor about an English/Chinese version of Afrika coming out next month is true.

Recently, Sony Computer Entertainment Asia is aggressively localizing games. Coded Soul got released in Chinese and next year Yuusha no Kuse ni Namikida or 2 is getting a Chinese version too. Most of Sony Computer Entertainment Asia’s first party localizations are Chinese releases, but hopefully these PS3 releases are a step towards publishing more English versions of games Sony Computer Entertainment America  skips in the future.
