Adventurers in Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 come in various classes all with their own skills that can be learned. This time around, there’s a new “subclass” feature that can be used for a variety of enhancements. You can use subclasses to enhance attacks and support or to improve on any character weaknesses.

The first example shows the Landsknecht that specializes in close-ranged combat and having a Runemaster subclass that specializes in ranged attacks with elemental magic. With this subclass, the Landsknecht is able to attack with best of both worlds.

The next example shows the Hexer that specializes in debuffing enemies with a subclass of the high-defense Paladin. This combination not only allows the Hexer to survive better and keep debuffing enemies more thanks to having higher defense, but the Paladin subclass also allows for the use of shields for added stats.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 releases in Japan on August 31, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS.
