The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV: The End of Saga releases exactly a month from today in Japan, and Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo shared a few tidbits in a recent interview. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

  • “There are some characters yet to be introduced in order to avoid spoilers.”

  • “Not only will it have past characters from the Trails series, but there will be some characters making an appearance for the first time. Like the woman who was looking at Class VII from behind.”

  • “This time there’s a part where you’ll split up into multiple parties to take on. An unexpected character will also show up with Order Command.”

  • “I’m thinking about making the DLC from Trails of Cold Steel III be usable in Trails of Cold Steel IV. We’ll make an announcement as soon as details are decided.”

  • “Since it revolves around a story surrounding the Empire, unfortunately there are some characters that won’t make an appearance.”

  • “However, those characters will have a place we’ve prepared for them in the next Trails series, so please look forward to that next series.”

  • “The reason Estelle’s necklace accessory is green isn’t because she has Lena’s keepsake, but a dummy. Perhaps it was entrusted to Elissa and Tio as a way to promise she’d come back alive.”

  • “Rean is about as strong as Laura, but if you look at the older generation there’s Arseid and Aurelia, so you’ll wonder just how far will Rean go.”

  • “A character other than Rean concerning the Eight Leaves One Blade will make an appearance. Keep an eye out for Rean’s new Craft.”
