Now that the Phantom Hourglass is out Nintendo’s Japanese branch is focusing on Chibi Robo: Park Patrol. GoNintendo noticed the official site opened up with a series of gameplay videos. The bottom screen is used as an all-purpose control panel where you select items and perform actions. Just like the Gamecube game, Chibi Robo uses a syringe to water plants and in Park Patrol you squirt water by sliding the plunger up on the touch screen. Also check out the new Chibi Robo: Park Patrol ad where you can see some of the other characters and watch him ride a bike.

While Chibi Robo was one of my favorite Gamecube games something doesn’t look right about Chibi Robo: Park Patrol. The colors obnoxiously clash with one another and it doesn’t make the game more cheerful. Hopefully the bright pastel palette won’t detract from Chibi Robo’s charm too much. I want to see a Nintendo Wii version of Chibi Robo in the future where you control him like a remote control car with the Wii remote.
