One of the cruelest April Fools’ Day 2020 gaming-related jokes came from FDG Entertainment and Game Atelier. The publisher and developer suggested that a DuckTales QuackShots revival was on the way. There were even four “official” screenshots. A day later, FDG Entertainment turned to Twitter to confirm that yes, this was all a prank. However, there was a glimmer of truth to this, and a story was told about an ill-fated pitch.

Apparently, FDG Entertainment did want to make this remake happen. It even got to the actual pitching phase, with the April Fools’ DuckTales QuackShots screenshots being part of that presentation. However, the necessary license and permissions weren’t granted. So, all of the images were rounded up and used in this April Fools’ presentation instead.

Here’s FDG Entertainment’s reveal.

The new DuckTales series is now airing, with a third season starting on April 4, 2020. DuckTales Remastered is available for the Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
