FFVII Rebirth Ultimania Discusses Vincent and His Age

Aitai Kuji owner Audrey Lamsam noted that in the FFVII Rebirth Ultimania book, Square Enix gives some information about the age of Vincent Valentine. While his real age is unknown and he looks like he’s in his late 20s, his mannerisms and knowledge about new technology makes him seem like a much older person. [Thanks, Aitai Kuji owner Audrey Lamsam!]

While information about Vincent and his age, FFVII Rebirth Ultimania went into more details about how Square Enix chose to depict and characterize him. As segments from the book are not readily available online, there may be some missing additional information. However, according to Audrey, Vincent sleeps a lot in order to regain all the energy he uses when he transforms. Additionally, Vincent is terrible with technology. In a clip from the game, we can see him struggling to use a Shinra card reader until Cait Sith helps him. He’s much better with older technology.

Here is Lamsam’s tweet:

In terms of chronology, while Vincent looks quite young, he’s in his late 50s. By the time the events of Dirge of Cerberus, which takes place after the main Final Fantasy VII game, happens, he’s around 60 years old. As a result of Shinra’s experiments on him, Vincent has retained his youthful appearance and gained inhuman powers.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is readily available on the PS5. The console exclusivity arrangement will end on May 29, 2024.
