Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile is a series of novellas written by Kazushige Nomura. “Case of Denzel” was the first of the series that released in episodes on Advent Children’s Japanese website, which was also adapted into an OVA anime, On the Way to a Smile: Episode Denzel. The following story was “Case of Tifa” that was available in a prologue book from V-Jump in Japan.
North America and Europe got the “Case of Barret” with the release of the limited edition box set of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Now, fans in the West will get the full collection of short stories in book format with Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile, featuring the previously mentioned stories as well four other entries in “Case of Yuffie,” “Case of of Nanaki,” “Case of Shinra,” and “Case of the Lifestream.”
