Sony Computer Entertainment Japan holds their own awards ceremony for the best selling and fan favorite PlayStation games every year.

The Gold Prize goes to games that ship at least 500,000 units in Japan. Usually, Sony has a Platinum Prize for games that reach one million units and for Monster Hunter we’ve seen the Double Platinum Prize. However, for the 2012 awards the highest sales award was the Gold Prize. What’s more interesting are the user choice awards for games developed in Japan and overseas titles.
