Message books allow visitors to leave messages for estate owners, as well as “like” estates to show their appreciation for the décor.
A message book can be placed in a free company estate, private estate, or an apartment. In the case of estates, there are two versions of the message book─one for indoor and one for outdoor use. Please note you may only set one of each at any given time.
While the message book is primarily for visitors to leave messages, the estate owner can also set a greeting message for visitors.
Moreover, notifications will be sent to the owner each time a message is written in the message book.
Entries left in the message book are set to public by default, allowing anyone to view them. However, they can be set to private at the owner’s discretion.
Players may leave one message in an estate’s book per day per character.
* Permission to leave messages will reset every day at 8:00 a.m. (PDT)
Messages can also be deleted by the player who penned them, as well as by the estate owner and those with authorization.
The number of aquariums that can be placed in an apartment or estate has been increased
- Private Chamber/Apartment 1 → 4
- Cottage 1 → 6
- House 1 → 8
- Mansion 1 → 10
* This update will be included in Patch 4.3, but due a critical issue, the number of aquariums will temporarily be limited to four per estate. Players will be informed when the issue has been resolved. Details are included in the Known Issues section. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

In accordance with these changes, speaking with the race chocobo registrar in Chocobo Square (X:6.1 Y:4.7) will now open the Duty Finder. Please note, however, the chocobo race tutorial and challenge races can only be undertaken by speaking with the race chocobo registrar.
