Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.4 Launches September 18; Getting FFVII Mount And Minions

Square Enix hosted a special 14-hour live stream in celebration of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s fifth anniversary. Its Patch 4.4 “Prelude in Violet” got a bunch of new details as well as a look at some Final Fantasy VII bonus goods, and more.

SDS Fenrir Mount and Final Fantasy VII Minions

The above is a look at the SDS Fenrir Mount, a mount based on Cloud’s bike. We also got a look at new Minions from Final Fantasy VII, including Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa.


The SDS Fenrir Mount plays the exclusive “The Chase” BGM while running. It’ll be available for all Fan Festival attendees (of all regions). It’ll also be available via Mog Station for $29.99/£19.99/€23.99.


FFXIV 4.4 Prelude in Violet (10)

New Cloud hairstyles will also be given away as a community item at  upcoming event contest.


Past Fan Festival live streams were mostly pay-per-view with the exception of a few parts like the Live Letter portions and other parts, but this time it’ll be available free of charge for all the stage events, except for the concerts.

Ticket Lottery Applications for Fan Festival 2019 in Tokyo to Begin Early October!

  • Ticket Price
    • Two Day Pass (with Mount): 15,000 yen + tax
    • Two Day Pass (no Mount): 12,500 yen + Tax


  • Number of tickets available for purchase: One to two tickets per person.


  • Application requirements
    • Must have an active Final Fantasy XIV subscription during the application period
      • Users will be selected at random, not on a first-come first-serve basis.


Final Fantasy XIV is available on PlayStation 4 and PC. Patch 4.4 launches September 18, 2018. We can expect to see a new trailer for it next week.
