Final Fantasy XVI The Rising Tide DLC Release Date Falls on April 2024

Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming The Rising Tide DLC for Final Fantasy XVI, and it revealed its release date as April 18, 2024. The trailer showed the look of the long-lost Eikon of Water Leviathan in combat, as well as some new environments.

The story of The Rising Tide DLC will involve Clive and his companions visiting the land of Mysidia after receiving an aid request from the Dominant of Leviathan. The trailer also showed the battle against a new Timekeeper boss, as well as a new enemy called Thalaos that will appear in the DLC.

Meanwhile, Clive can be seen using the new Leviathan Eikon during gameplay. As a playable Eikon, Leviathan takes over Clive’s left arm and acts as a buster that can shoot potent streams and bursts of water. Some of its abilities have been revealed as Refill, Tidal Stream, and Tidal Torrent. New footage of Clive in his Ifrit form fighting Leviathan has also been shown.

Final Fantasy XVI is now available exclusively for PlayStation 5, as is the Echoes of the Fallen add-on. The Rising Tide will come out on April 18, 2024. A PC port of FFXVI is currently in development, and a demo will appear on PC sometime prior to release.
