We recently got to check out the first English screenshots for Fire Emblem Echoes, and it appears that the game will only be available with English voiceovers when it releases in the West this May.

The information comes from Nintendo UK’s official page for Fire Emblem Heroes: Shadows of Valentia, where they share some information on the classic recreation of Fire Emblem Gaiden from 1992.

It talks about the dual protagonists Alm and Celia who will join others locked in a tragic war dividing the continent of Valentia, with conflicts coming to life in cut scenes created by Studio Khara, and every line of dialogue has been fully voiced. There’s an added note underneath that last bit saying “Please note that this game will be available only with English voiceover.”

That said, Fire Emblem Echoes will basically just follow what we’ve seen in previous entries without the option of Japanese voiceovers, so it isn’t really a big surprise there.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia releases in Japan on April 20, North America and Europe on May 19, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS.
