It is going to be a radiant dawn on the morning of September 18, 2020. That’s when new Fire Emblem Heroes Jill, Ilyana, Gatrie, and Shinon units will appear as part of the Despair and Hope banner. The new units all come from the first game in the Radiant duo, the GameCube’s Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. You’ll also see them in-action during the Plumeria Dream campaign chapter.

Let’s start with Fire Emblem Heroes’ Ilyana: Hungering Mage. This is the second version of her in-game, as she originally appeared on a Halloween banner as the “Treat Harvester.” She’s a blue mage infantry unit.

Here are Ilyana’s five-star, fully leveled skills.

  • Blarfox: Mt 12, Rng 2. If unit initiates combat, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on foe during combat.
  • Iceberg: Boosts damage by 50% of unit’s Res.
  • Mirror Strike 2: If foe initiates combat, grants Atk/Res+4 during combat.
  • Res Ploy 3: At start of turn, inflicts Res-5 on foes in cardinal directions with Res < unit’s Res through their next actions.

The Fire Emblem Heroes Shinon is the Scathing Archer. He’s a colorless archer infantry unit. His voice actor is Brendan McKian, while his art was drawn by Wada Sachiko.

Here’s his five-star kit.

  • Double Bow: Mt 14, Rng 2. Accelerates Special Trigger (cooldown count –1). Effective against flying foes. If unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 during combat and unit can counterattack regardless of foe’s range.
  • Deadeye: Doubles damage dealt. Disables non-Special skills that “reduce damage by X%.”
  • Atk/Def Solo 4: If unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Def+7 during combat.
  • Lull Atk/Spd 3: Inflicts Atk/Spd-3 on foe and neutralizes foe’s bonuses to Atk/Spd (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat.
  • Time’s Pulse 3: At start of turn, if Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants Special cooldown count-1.

Fire Emblem Heroes Gatrie is known as Armored Amour. He’s an armored-type lance wielder. Jacob Craner voices him, while DAI-XT drew his art.

Here are his skills if he’s a fully enhanced five-star.

  • Spirited Spear+: Mt 14, Rng 1. If [Bonus] is active on unit, grants Atk/Def+4 and Special cooldown charge+1 pr foe’s attack during combat. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack. Special cooldown charge granted even if foe’s attack deals 0 damage.)

All effects that last “for 1 turn” or “that turn only” includes bonuses granted by a skill like Rally or Hone and positive status effects (extra movement or effects like Dominance).

  • Moonbow: Treats foe’s Def/Res as if reduced by 30% during combat.
  • Fort Def/Res 3: Grants Def/Res+6, inflicts Atk-2.
  • Crafty Fighter 3: If a unit’s HP is greater than or equal to 25% and foe initiates combat, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack and inflicts Special cooldown charge –1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.)

Finally, a Fire Emblem Heroes Jill unit was revealed. Her title is Fiery Dracoknight and, as you might imagine, that means she’s a flying unit on a dragon. She wields an axe. Her voice actress is Reba Buhr, and her art was drawn by Asatani Tomoyo.

Here’s her full moveset.

  • Talregan Axe: Mt 16, Rng 1. Accelerates Special Trigger (cooldown-1). If unit initiates combat or if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd+6 during combat. If unit initiates combat, unit can make a follow-up attack before foe can counterattack.
  • Moonbow: Treats foe’s Def/Res as if reduced by 30% during combat.
  • Atk/Spd Push 4: At start of combat, if unit’s HP is greater than or equal to 25%, grants Atk/Spd+7, but after combat, if unit attacked, deals 5 damage to unit.
  • Chill Atk/Spd 2: At start of turn, influcts Atk/Spd-5 on foe on the enemy team with the highest Atk+Spd total through its next action.
  • Spd/Def Rein 3: Inflicts Spd/Def-4 on foes within 2 spaces during combat.

Here’s the full trailer for the Despair and Hope banner. It confirms Ilyana will be available as a four-star and five-star.

Fire Emblem Heroes is available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
