Itching to learn about Marth’s back story? Nintendo of America plans to release Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon in North America in the “first half of 2009”. If you’re dying for a Nintendo Wi-Fi connected strategy RPG set in the Fire Emblem universe you can import the game from Europe where its getting released in English first. Nintendo of Europe plans to have Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon in stores on December 5.

I’m not sure why there’s such a long wait since Nintendo’s first party DS schedule looks bare. All we have coming this year is a Pokemon Ranger sequel and Personal Trainer: Cooking and both of these games are scheduled for November. The only reason I would be hesitant to import Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is the Nintendo Wi-Fi features like unit trading may not be compatible with the North American version. That and the Euro to Dollar exchange will make this one expensive import.
