Here are some new details on the game’s battle system.

Fire Emblem Warriors (1)

Similar to the more recent Fire Emblem games, Fire Emblem Warriors allows you to “Pair Up” when the character you’re controlling goes near an ally. This action forms a pair of front and backline characters who fight together.

While in a paired up state, a “Dual Attack Gauge” appears. You can fill this up to use a “Dual Attack” to break the enemy’s guard.

You can also use the “Dual Guard” while fighting as a pair. When the meter fills up you can use this to completely nullify an enemy attack.

Lastly, the “Dual Special Attack” becomes available when both characters of a pair fill up their Musou Gauges, allowing them to activate the cooperative special attack. Depending on their bond together, you’ll hear a difference in their lines.

You can check out a Dual Special Attack with Lucina and Marth in our previous report. You can also check out the latest footage featuring the four new heroes of Fire Emblem Fates here.

Fire Emblem Warriors launches on Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS in Japan on September 28, and October 20, 2017 in the West.
