First Hades 2 Patch Addresses Resource Gathering, Dash, and Sprint

Supergiant Games announced that it plans to deal with issues involving resource gathering and Melinoe’s dash and sprint in the first Hades 2 patch. However, there’s no exact release date for the update for the early access build beyond it appearing sometime later in May 2024.

The goal for both the Hades 2 resource gathering and the dash and sprint adjustments is to make both more comfortable and not frustrating for the player. In the case of materials, Supergiant noted the change is designed to eliminate the grind. As for the dash and sprint options, the team will “improve” both to ensure she is unique compared to Zagreus, but still plays smoothly.

Supergiant also noted it will work on a balance patch for Hades 2 as well. There’s no launch window for that. However, it did note that it is using the anonymous data people consented to share to collect fee information about things that may need changing. Some elements that could be rebalanced that were specifically mentioned were boons, foes, and weapons.

Hades 2 is available on the PC via Steam Early Access now, and the first patch will appear in May 2024. The full launch is expected to appear sometime in early 2025, with console versions to appear after that.
